Child Protection

PADet’s Child Protection program is designed to enhancing beneficiaries’ knowledge and responsiveness to children’s needs, and filling in service gaps. All projects incorporate child protection aspects, focusing on prevention of children, mainly girls, from violence, exploitation and other forms of abuse. With this in mind, we:

  • help raise the awareness of parents, guardians, teachers, communities, government officials and other
stakeholders about child development in general and child protection in particular.
  • support communities to build their financial capacity to reach/help vulnerable children; meanwhile, we extend
direct support (medical, nutrition, and education) for orphans and vulnerable children.
  • contribute towards building community consensus against malpractices that affect the well-being of children,
including physical punishment, child marriage, female genital mutilation, and discrimination.
  • help create and strengthen structures such as school based clubs, associations (saving and credit associations,
women self-help groups), taskforces, networks, and committees so that they become empowered enough to address
local issues. We make sure that children and youth play a positive role in the change process.
