Yeneray Project Close-Out & Partnership Workshop – Bahir Dar
PADet hosted a successful close-out and partnership engagement workshop in Bahir Dar to mark the conclusion of the “Yeneray – My Body, My Future” project, implemented with Plan International Ethiopia and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. The event celebrated the project’s impact in Fageta Lakuma, Bahir Dar Zuria, and Kersa Woreda, where thousands of adolescents and youth benefited from increased access to sexual and reproductive health education, gender equality initiatives, disability inclusion, and economic empowerment opportunities.
During the workshop, PADet highlighted the organization’s long-standing commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children, youth, and families. Many partners who have contributed to PADet’s work across health, education, child protection, HIV prevention, social accountability, peacebuilding, and emergency response were also acknowledged.
Over the years, PADet has collaborated with a wide range of international and national partners—including Plan International, Save the Children, PSI, USAID, WFP, Geneva Global, ActionAid, OAK Foundation, Norwegian Church Aid, EU, British Council, Children Believe, FHI360, and others—to deliver programs that strengthen community resilience and expand access to essential services across Amhara, Oromia, Afar, Addis Ababa, and surrounding regions.
The event also introduced PADet’s upcoming initiatives, including a major youth livelihood and agri-preneurship program in Amhara supported by SNV/Mastercard Foundation, and a maternal and child health strengthening project in Central Gondar. PADet also shared updates on its growing work in social accountability, basic education, peacebuilding, and protection of child domestic workers.
In response to the evolving funding landscape, PADet has begun piloting social enterprise models to diversify its resources and sustain long-term programming. A newly constructed office space provided by the municipality will serve as a foundation for this effort.
PADet expressed deep appreciation to its donors, government partners, program teams, and community members whose support makes this work possible. The event served not only as a project celebration but as a reaffirmation of PADet’s commitment to collaboration, accountability, and transformative community impact.
